This was the first Bedwellty School football team which played on a regular basis. Prior to 1986 the school was essentially a rugby playing school with football played on an ad hoc basis. The creation of a football team was the suggestion of Gary George and the Williams twins. The team lost its first match 3-1 against Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni but proceeded to win the Rymney Valley Cup.
